HEADTEACHER L37–L43

Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to the recruitment website for the role of Headteacher at St Wilfrid’s High School and 6th Form College. I hope that this website will give you a real insight into our community and our vision for the future – a future we hope you can help us create.

St Wilfrid’s is a highly successful school and our students make outstanding progress in a caring Christian environment, consistently achieving excellent results. We offer an outstanding curriculum which has received a number of national awards. Since 1999 we have been a Specialist Language College and were awarded Vocational specialist status in 2006 due to our consistently strong performance. We’re proud to be a truly inclusive school that helps pupils of all abilities and backgrounds become confident, caring young men and women in line with our moral and spiritual values.

Visitors to the school frequently comment on the special atmosphere, embodied by our pupils, who behave with respect and tolerance to all members of the community. We continually strive to provide opportunities to learn, celebrate and reflect on our Christian values, and we welcome all pupils who wish to benefit from, and are able to support, the Catholic ethos that is at the heart of our learning community.

We have achieved much but the future holds new challenges and opportunities, and we need an exceptional Headteacher to lead and inspire us in the coming years. A committed practising Catholic, you’ll need to sustain and build on our reputation for excellence while taking us forward with your vision for further developing our school.

A sound financial base and the support of enthusiastic and dedicated staff, governors and parents awaits you, and you can be assured that you will receive a warm welcome and our wholehearted commitment to building on our strong and effective Christian learning community. We have high aspirations and expectations for the future and we need an inspirational leader to take us forward and continue to ensure that St Wilfrid’s is a fantastic place to work and learn.

Should you take the next step and visit St. Wilfrid’s, I am confident you will be impressed. We are very proud of our community, all of whom benefit from the experience for the rest of their lives, being developed spiritually, morally, academically and physically.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Fr Sean Durcan, Chair of Governors
